Occupy movements is composed of people from different levels of the society. These people possess diverse political, economic, and social opinions, but have come together to advance a common stand or issue. Occupy movement is then a movement, which focuses on advancing for change in the society from the bottom to the top. Occupy movement fights the poor political and economic system that has allowed the poor people in the society to become inferior, while the rich citizens in the social order become more affluent. The occupy movement was initiated by Adbusters who initiated the concept ‘’Occupy Wall Street’’, thousands of people responded to call, and turn up in Zuccotti park, which is located at the heart of New York’s financial area, to protect the destructive outcome that companies have on politics, social and economic system. The movement grew and extended to more than 500 cities, as thousands of people stayed overnight for two months to fight for their rights. This article will examine the political, social and economic issues that occupy movement fight for, and the effects that this issues have on my personal professional life.
Occupy movement is diverse, the people within occupy movement have diverse point of view, but political issues are at the central of the occupy movements. Although the movement did not develop out of the need to address political issues, the movement has developed into accommodating more and more political issues within its agenda (Amenta, 2010). The emergent occupy movement has hoisted grave political questions. Occupy movements denunciations of the financial capital operations and its stress on the need of genuine social justice and equality resonate around the broad areas of the political aspects of society. Occupy movement is not founded on the demands of trade unions, but on the on political issues that are centred on a broad economic and social reorganisation as a whole. The movement is formed on the recognition of the need to solve major political issues that are confronting people in the society.
