Demonstrate the skills required to communicate to a variety of audiences, verbally and in written forms, information relating to the health and development of families; this will be achieved by you effectively communicating information on family development issues in written form. 4. Show how to work independently and responsibly to self –manage knowledge and skills to promote the health and development of families; this will be achieved by you independently completing this assessment GLO1 Discipline-specific knowledge and capabilities: this will be achieved by you analysing and discussing how a family influences an individual’s experience of developmental changes. Introduction

Early childhood education is an influential stage in a child’s life, in terms of the child’s mental, physical, intellectual and social growth and development. Education for a child starts when a child is born and continues when they are going to play, and attend kindergartens. The best education for a child begins at home before they can go out into the world and play a child’s relationship with their parents is highly powerful in shaping a child’s behaviour and ability to learn in the world. Parental care and love are a vital ingredient in shaping a child’s development. Parental involvement in their child’s development and learning is an essential ingredient in improving the child’s academic standards and achievements, and also their overall behaviour and attitudes. During early childhood life-cycle stage, a child may experience cognitive and psychosocial and emotional development. This article will examine cognitive, physical and psychosocial and emotional development of a child, and also examines the way family, or household inhibits, and enhances early childhood development in these three stages.

Cognitive development

Early childhood lifespan development fosters the cognitive development of a child. There are various factors in a child’s development that influences his, or her cognitive development. The aspects of a child’s external, emotional and social environment have a profound effect on his, or her development.
